I need software like bitpim to manage my phone, It can't find my phone when I
plug it into pc using usb port. do I need a driver for the port or other
software for the phone?

Usually the application that you are using supplies the driver.
I have tranfered the phonebook via DataPilot which has its own driver.
I have connected with Mototools which has its own drivers.
I have xfered files via bluetooth. That uses the bluetooth driver.
If you are using Verizon then you can't do it unless you do a mod
I have Alltel - no problem..\
