I just activated a C139, and it seems to work ok for a basic phone.
But on a test to my landline answering machine, the outgoing voice
quality was only fair.  However, on a real call to a buddy, he said
he could hear me fine, and it was the same the other way.

Are there any adjustments at all for outgoing voice level or tone or
whatever on this phone?  I couldn't find any in the manual, but just
thought I would ask the experts here.

where were you in relation to the answering machine when you called it?
Close enough for RFI to get in the machine?

I think I was a couple rooms away.  But I did the same test
with my TDMA phone, and it was better quality but lower
volume.  I'll try it again from the gym today and see if
that makes any difference.

Really it sounds like distortion from too much gain.  Maybe
I should just whisper.  :-)
