Don't know what else to call it.  I can turn it on and off, that is the only
button that will work.  If I hit any other button, nothing.  Anyone have any
suggestions with this one?  Should I send it back and get another one?  I
think that's what cingular has told me they could do in the past with
another phone I was having issues with.  I'd rather not get a refurbished on
though if this is a problem with the phone though.  Any thoughts would be
greatly appreciated!

Did you get it wet? If so, the keyboard is probably toast.

Not that I'm aware of.  The little dot that turns red in the back if its
gotten wet is not red.  I haven't dropped it in water or anythign like that.
Like I said though, the red/power button still works, just none of the
others.

Humm....you  might poke around the Howard Forums to see if anyone has had
similar issues:

Thanks, found a similar post, someone there said water damage.  But from
what though.  can it just be humidity or whatever?  I can't belive this
though.  I have two phones now that don't work.  This razor and a V551 that
works, except I can't text or type names to store phone numbers.  Is this
jsut a motorola problem or a moisture problem??

Could be a moisture issue or you could be harder than most on the keyboards.
I am still using the original V3. Had to have the battery replaced last
Summer and now dealing with dust behind the screen, but that's really all
the issues I have had.

You might try a reset, if you can get to the settings menu:

Settings>Initial Setup>Master Clear

Did he not say he could only switch it on and off and no other keys work

Thank you!  I wasn't going to say anything, but I'm glad someone caught
that!  Yes, the only button (singular) button that works is the red, on/off
button.

I've basically given up on it, from what I've read from toher people having
similar problems they point to water/moisture or "overuse" of the keypad.  I
had noticed in the last few days that when I would be texting I would be way
ahead of where it was actually typing on the screen and I'm not that fast of
a texter, so it appeared something was messing up then!  Maybe I text too
much, but shouldn't the phone be made to handle that?

Did you not notice the wording "if you can get to the settings menu"
Just trying to offer up what may be some solutions to the issue.

Send it back and get a new one and be done with it.

Yeah, just found out I could, wasn't sure it was still under warranty or if
I could, but in the process of doing that.  Thanks.
