MP3 Music Stored On KRZR

I have a bunch of MP3 files that I want to put on my KRZR.  I have
them in folders by artist on my hard drive.  When I copy the folders
to the memory card in the KRZR, the phone ignores the folders, and
just lists all the songs.  I want them back in the folders to make it
easy to locate them.

I assume I need to set up Playlists to sort the music files.  I set up
a few in the memory card, but they don't show up when using a file
manager and looking at the memory card under Audio.  The folders are
all there, but no Playlists.  How do I get the folders into Playlists
and/or the Playlists visible when I can work with them with a file
manager?  I tried using MPT, but there is nothing in there about
Playlists.

On the RAZR V3xx, if you store them in folders on the memory card, then
the folders show up as "Albums".  The KRZR may be similar.

I tried that, but it finds the actual album name (somehow) instead of
the folder.  The closest I can get to it is by using Artist.  Even
that is not perfect as, again, it goes for the Artist and not the
folder.  I guess between them I can find what I want.

It probably gets the album name from ID3 tags as any decent audio player
would. You may be able to force the phone to use the folder name by
removing the ID3 tags from your MP3 files. ID3 tags can be edited with
winamp.

Thanks Andreas.  I will give that a try.

u have to create a playlist on the KRZR and then opt to view only the
playlist.  i have put my mp3s in their own folder and created playlist
with the same name as the folders, so when i want to play certain songs,
i just use the playlist.  if i recall correctly, you can also create a
category and view by category.

That's what I am doing now, but boy, is it tedious.  Ridiculous that
you can't do it with MPT.  It was OK for the first few playlists,
because the songs were from folders in the same order, but as you get
deeper into the playlists, it takes a whole lot of scrolling to get
down to the songs you want to include.  I have 22 playlists so far.  I
have struggled through the first 6.  Only 16 to go!
