Adding a "1-" to area code.

Hi,

Is there any standard way of entering phone numbers into my address
book so that when I'm not in a particular area it sticks a "1-" in
front of the code for me when I'm dialing?

(I have a Motorola Razr V3, in case that matters).

Depending on the carrier, if you could add 1+AreaCode+Number, that will
save you headaches. Some providers have problems with area code if you
are in the "area code" area.
