hi
i've searched this group via google and can't find any reference,
so..... my krazr (verizon if it makes a diff) delivers the music
player output via the usb port to the (extra cost) earbuds; i'd like
to be able to deliver it to a couple of phono jacks/plugs so i could
feed it to an external amp or a car stereo or something, maybe. i
could always slice off the earbuds and connect there, but like I said
they're exra cost, $25. I bought what purported to be a "USB to stereo
jack adapter for Krazr" but it turned out to be just another telephone
earpiece miniphonejack to USB adapter, like the one that comes with
the phone for free so you can plug in a nonMotorola phone headset, and
it doesn't carry the music player signal at all. on the other hand, i
wouldn't mind slicing up this cheapo item if anybody has any info on
whether it's just a matter of finding the right usb leads carrying the
music signal, any maybe a simple circuit to tell the phone it's
plugged in.... anybody know? i'm so jealous of the ipod folks with all
the gadgets they can plug into.

The USB to stereo jack is the way to go BUT, you need the genuine
Motorola one - not the cheapie ones from others. This gives you headset
impedance output but many car stereos accept that -OR you can use an
impedance matching transformer to an amplifier if needed. Stop by a car
shop and they'll show you what you need.
