Hello,

I just signed up with Nextel via a contract and purchased 2 i530
phones. Then the Sprint/Nextel merger has gone through. Will we need
new phones to switch to the PCS network, or will Nextel stay the same?
If so, will Sprint give people some sort of credit for the Nextel
phones they purchased which are basically new? Any input would be
appreciated.

Thanks!

You will not have a problem for at least 2-3 years.  that is how long i
will take for the two companies to merge into one networ

Trust me they have engineers working right now on what the phones are gonna
look like and what capabilities and features they will have when the
networks are converged.

yes working on but no where near a point where it can be implemented.
look at the facts, first off the deal has not even offically gone
through and secondly neither company is every running the higher
frequency system that they will both be utilizing when they become one
service.  that is why i say it will be a couple years before it is all
over and done with, besides they said it themselves that IDEN will be
around for at least 2-3 more years.
