I have a I90c that is about 4 months old. The home charger is a
NNTN4250A. When using this 110volt charger it doesnt seem to always
want to charge the phone. I usually have to plug it in 4 or 5 times
and turn the phone off and on before some magic combination happens to
make it start charging. None of the pins on the charger or phone seem
to be bent or corroded. Anyone else have these problems?

No problems exactly like that here, but I've had to swap an i90 and
several i1000 phones out for new ones at the service center. If you
bought yours new you might want to see if you can do an in warranty swap
with the dealer you purchased it from or go to a service center.

Ben,
Do me a favor please. Look at your new charger. Look at the end that
plugs into the phone. Does that end have about 3 prongs that are not
all at the same height? I I I
I I I
II I
And if you have the car charger, are all the prongs the same height?
Thanks

Tom, the charger has two prongs that fold in. As far as the car charger,
I'll let you know when I get to my car. I've never really checked that stuff
before.

Tom, your battery might be bad already. I have one old Moto i85 which dos
not hold charge. Pacificwoods

Pacific,
Now you werent following along, were you? The battery has nothing to
do with my problem. If I plug it into the cigarette lighter adapter,
everything works perfectly. The Nextel authorized service center agent
I took it to said the phone is the problem and it needs to be replaced
in warranty. Too bad that "kid" has no clue. He should look for
another job. What I have found out is that if you have the NNTN4250A
charger (NOTE THE A) you need to send it back. Its an old (I say old
again) piece of crap. You will get a NNTN4250B (Note the B) charger.
My phones were purchased in Feb of this year along with the rapid
travel chargers they came with (NNTN4250B) The Motorola rep said that
charger is well over a year old and not under warranty. I told him
"Wrong Bucko"! I have the receipt in front of me. He is sending out
two new chargers (Both I90c phones and chargers are doing this) under
warranty as long as I send the old ones back with proof of purchase.
Obviously they tried to get rid of some old stock.
Suprise, suprise.

Yes, just clean the contacts with q-tips and alcohol.

Already tried that. It worked for about 5 mins then back to the same
thing. The rapid travel charger in the <A> series is a lemon.

As weird as it sounds, it appears my charging issues are somehow related
to firmware updating.
Never had a problem prior to recent updates it seems... Coincidence?
Sometimes also get a message on the screen that I'm using an
incompatible charger, which I am not. Sometimes the phone powers off on
me. Grrr....
