Direct Protect Deductible question

I submitted a claim today for an I836 that got melted when it fell into a
Frialator (sp?). The claim process went very well, until they told me there
was a $100 deductible. On this page:

the I836 is not on the list of phones with a $100 deductible. They said they
were sorry about that, sorry that the web site and the brochure were out of
date, nothing they can do, the deductible is still $100.

Any thoughts on whether this is worth pursuing? Has anyone ever had any luck
with Nextel in a similar situation?

Go up the chain, ask for a manager or start writing letters.

If you become annoying enough they'll give you what you want so that
you'll go away (especially since you're right)

There is an insurance complaint board in each state.  I had a problem with
Lockline, and they gave me the run-around.  I filed a complaint on day 1;
day 2 lockline called and asked me if I could help them get this complaint
settled; day 3 they sent me a "check".  Getting a complaint thru the state
insurance regulator agency must be "a big deal."  Save a copy of the web
site (print screen) as well as the brochure.  If it is out of date, that
isn't your problem; and while unintentional, sounds like FRAUD, and your
state agency will want to see this fixed; and the insurance folks will want
your complaint to go away.

Check out your states insurance watch-dogs; and make sure that you have the
name of the insurance company that is legally registered to offer that
service in your state.  The real name... not a dba.  dr.

From what I've experienced, it's not the website's documentation that counts, it's what care or
Signal tells you on the phone.  The i830 and the i860 are both $100 deductibles, and the i836
is a direct descendant of the i830, so I'm not sure how successful you'll be.  Good luck, though!
