I have a friend that has a Prepaid Boost Mobile with the Direct
Connect walkie talkie feature. She states that it only costs her 1.50
a day to use the direct connect and she can talk all day if she wants
and only gets charged once. Is this true?

Reading from another site it was my understanding that you got charged
the 1.50 each time you made a direct connect and whoever it was that
initiated the direct connect got charged. Could someone explain to me
how your charged for the Direct connects?

She has only had it a week, and says that she is really saving on
prepaid minutes since she started using the direct connect. She is a
Novice and has no idea about things like this usually, but she swears
up and down that it's only 1.50 a day.

My brother has a Nextel cellphone with Direct connect(monthly
subscriber with contract)....not a boost mobile. He lives in Florida,
and I am in Georgia. I was wondering If I got one of these boost
mobiles would I be able to direct connect with him.

Thanks for any and all advice you can give me.

All your questions can be answered at Boost's web site:
http://www.boostmobile.com/ .

But I'll give you a hint: Would you use a direct connect at all if it
were $1.50 per connection? How many thousands of dollars do you think
your phone bill would be?

Gee, what does Boost Mobile's web site say about it?

Yes it is only 1.50 a day no matter how many times you use it. And the
Direct Connect works with Boost and Nextel.

Though your voice minutes will have limited coverage if in a non-Nextel
area, like Nextel partners.
Me I liked the option for internet for only .20 cents a day. And free
incoming messages.

I never use Direct Connect but according to the Boost Mobile site your
friend is right. And according to the FAQ, yes, you can DC your
brother.
