Hey all,

Breezed through the group and didn't see anything on this.

Any idea if NexTel is letting anyone out of contract because of the
merger? I hate Sprint and left them to go with Nextel. any ideas?

Thanks

No, you can't get out just because you hate Sprint.

ok this is the way I figure it....

I signed my contract with Nextel. Not sprint together with Nextel right? is
was way over our heads. I didn't have any say so. This sucks. oh
well.....lol..... guess sprint gets to screw with me again.

If you like Nextel then don't worry, for the next serveral years nothing
will change anyway.  Nextel support is still the same it was, and for
now Nextel Service is the Same service it was before the merger.

My company all data and telco from AT&T a few years ago because they were
horrible at billing issues. Our local telco is SBC so guess what?  We will
soon be  getting bills from AT&T again. Ack!

Yea well if you find a way let us all know,  because I signed my
contract with Nextel and not sprint.   BUT,  theres a new phone coming
out and its going to do iDEN and Sprint digital which should be cool.
Like I said before,  if Nextel screws billing and service up,  I will
leave and go back to Cingular,   I am NOT rich but paying 200 for
termination and having piece of mind is 10 times better to me and the
family

Yeah thanks. I am totally with you on that whole idea

Uh, dual mode phones from Sprint won't be out for a few years.  You'll be
waiting for a while....

There already in testing,  and should be on the streets soon, NOT a few
years

I dunno... they are saying that it is at least a few years out. they have to
sync all the towers and all that kind of stuff. From what i understand (i'm
sure i will be corrected if i am wrong) but Nextel using a completely
seperate band will have to either get sprint on there towers or V\vice versa
and get the go ahead to release the phones after that. Besides sprint
wouldn't want to piss off nextel customers now would they?

No need to do anything to the network.  The phone would work like a GAIT
phone, using the two protocols and looking for them in specific frequncy
bands.  If iDen is available and CDMA is not, it uses the iDEN and vice
versa.  The dual mode phone itself is far from new technology- the iDen/CDMA
criteria is the only new thing and no harder to develop than CDMA/AMPS or
GSM/TDMA.

Ummmmmm....a few years from now. I guess that the phone which is put out by
Motorola and is  a dual band phone that is currently being tested is just
hype.

some stuff go even though its already been said.
