Is it me or does the i870 suck ?
I've been using an i1000+ for 4 years ( still works too )
and just switched to the i870, and the sound quailty sucks..
Is the 930 better ? the same ? or worse then the i870 ?
Help, I got 5 days to return it and get another phone...
Thanks :)

The i870 & i930 are user reviewed on CNET http://tinyurl.com/mevcr , suggest
checking out the many user comments.
I too miss my i1000+ (have had three), but the latest used replacement had
an old firmware version, and Motorola (and none of the service centers) no
longer provides the latest firmware update or supports this phone.
So I too, after 5+ years, just upgraded to a new phone (the i265 since it
was free with a 2 yr agreement). Altho the i265's firmware needed upgrading
right out of the box, it's not a flip-phone, nor does it have the bulk feel
in the palm of the hand that I liked with the i1000+; so far so good.
The sound quality is good, and speakerphone works great, I was able to
convert my i1000+ phone list on mynextel.com to this i265 format for
downloading to the new phone, all without changing my antique
no-longer-available rate plan (and I even broke down and paid for a download
of my favorite tune as a ringtone). ;-)
I still haven't used or learned about all the features available, but I've
ordered a PC data cable and car charger off of the web, so I guess I've
committed to keeping this one for awhile.
Good luck,

Get it replaced where you bought it. My i870 works
great. And the sound is as good as or better than the
i730 I upgraded from. I've had the i1000+(many years
ago) and while its a good PTT/phone, you will be better
served by the i870. The functions just do not compare
between the two. Course if all you do is talk you
could have gotten by with a less expensive model.
I like the i870 over the i930 any day of the week and
twice on sunday. But I don't need the functions that
the i930 provides. And don't expect great things out
of *any* camera phone, its like comparing the old 110
instant cameras to a Nikon F4.

personally I have an I860 and it's the best nextel phone I've ever had (have
had I1000, I90c, I95, I730) my only qualms with the 860 was battery life
(less than a day total) but I bought an extended battery off ebay for about
7 dollars shipped and it made a WORLD of difference. (I get about 2-3 days
of battery life now)
