I have a Nextel i2000+ phone. If I get it unlocked, can I use another
carriers SIM and use it as a 'Pay as you go' ??  Thanks.

Nope.  All Nextel phones are iDen.  While the i2000+ is a dual band (iDen
and GSM), it will not work on other carriers.
