Herc,

No one's holding a gun to your head.  If you don't like Nextel, there are
other carriers out there.

Before you start in about contracts, stop and ask yourself if $200 is worth
the stress and aggravation?

Respectfully,

Z

Joe,

Are you in a low signal area?

When the phone loses and then regains signal, it re-establishes connection
with the network.  Not just for cell and direct connect, but data as well.
The network pushes any voicemail, text and SMS messages to the phone when it
reconnects.

I know that sucks, but let me put it into perspective:  Try playing Halo on
a TRS 80 or Commodore 64....

Well just so happens................I work in the Engineering & Ops'...It is
not the tower problem that your phone is "user busy in data" If you were
dropping calls, no audio, system busy....that is a network issue. If you can
see the tower, I am curious do you have a data service on your phone? If so,
and your using a packet data or browser service it will show you as "user
busy in data"...yahoo mess,etc...that uses that is running over the
internet. If you don't then I would look at swapping out the phone. Because
other than when your phone registers on the network and "IF and ONLY IF" you
have a data service is the only time it will show you as user busy in data.
But if you calling someone else and it shows that.....it could be one of
what I explain above.

But now if your calling someone else and it shows "User busy

Yes Nextel sucks, however, Nextel had excellent service until they merged
with Sprint.

The service is still the same, meaning in "foot print" . That is what is so
funny, people think when Nextel merged, they merged the networks and they
did not and can not...it is not possible. 3rd quarter if this yr. Sprint
Nextel will be releasing a dual bandmap phone.............yes it works very
well.
