i90 or i730? Which should I Buy?

I am going to sign up with NexTel on Dec 1.  Which phone should I buy? The
i90 or i730 or even the i95.  Or should I wait until they come out with new
phones.  I hear that there are problems with the new i730.  Or -------------
should I just can the NexTel idea and just go with Verizon?

Please -- Need help.  This is going to be my FIRST cell phone purchase ever.
I want to make an informed decision.  I like the PTT of Nextel as my friends
have them.  A couple people I know have Verizon PTT and the delay seems
troublesome.

Need some guidance quickly.

Thank You,  Scotty WarBucks

You'll have to talk to a Nextel Rep at the Nextel Store in order to help
you suppress your decision.  The i90c is already discontinued as the
last bastion of shipments already hit the Nextel Stores as Motorola is
now offering discounts on the i90c.

What you might like about the i90c:

* J2ME Powered
* External Caller ID
* Tunes and Games

What you might not like about the i90c:

* No Color

What you might like about the i95cl:

* All the features of the i90c
* GIF-Quality Color Screen

What you might not like about the i95cl:

* Bulky for a Clamshell Phone

What you might like about the i730:

* 16-Bit Color
* Newest SIM Technology
* J2ME Support

What you might not like about the i730:

* Pricey
* Limited Games

Tell me, what are you planning to do with your Nextel Phone?  If you are
not going to go bonkers with upgrades, then I'd suggest the i730.  If
you really need a Nextel Phone right now, choose your phone wisely as
you definitely want to keep a Nextel Phone for as long as you want.

Scotty,

I'm about to have my wife switch from AT&T to Nextel and get the i730.  I've
had Nextel for a year (in SE N.H.), am happy with Nextel and am staying with
it.

What are the problems with the i730 that you have heard about?

we have three i730's and don't have any problems with them that I'm
aware of.

There aren't any problems, Sandy. I've had mine for three weeks. It's a
great little phone. Go for it.

We (wife, son and I) each have i90c's. Today I got the i95cl. I was not
unhappy with the i90c, but, my eyesight is not the best and for me the
i95cl is easier to read. It has a neat zoom feature which is helpful to
me. I looked at the i730 and I thought it was nice. I chose the i95cl
instead as we have extra accessories (car cords, wall chargers, etc.)
for the i90c/i95cl that would not fit the i730 and the i95cl seemed to
fit my needs. That said, we have not had any issue with the i90c's.

Where did you hear that there's problems with the new i730? I've had one for
three weeks with nary a problem. It replaced my i90c. Or are you just
another rumor monger??

Rumor Monger -- Give me a BREAK!  My buddy had one and there was a problem
getting it hooked up to the internet.  I posted looking for some feedback
and only feedback.  So what r

Hey Skversky, give me a BREAK!  I am just looking for some feedback.  One of
my buddies had the i730 and took it back because there was a problem getting
the internet hooked up.  The NexTel rep said that there was a problem with
that part of the phone and did not know if it was a software problem or not.

The 730 is full of bugs. It locks up when you dial for several seconds
at a time, doesn't hang up right away, signal stregnth is not as good in
the fringe areas compared to an i90/95. I have tried 3 different 730's
and all of them have had the same issues. I suspect they are software
issues and will be taken care of during subsequent releases. The 730 is
not near as rugged as the i90/95 as well. One drop to the ground and the
case looks like crap.

Good luck,

Timmy

The i730 has tons of problems. Check out www.howardforums.com and you'll see
lots of posts from people less than happy with the i730. I recommend the
i95. It's a quality color phone that's durable and works very well-and
doesn't cost a fortune.

Ditto...I'm sure there will be plenty of local i95 deals with the season too.
