Thanks for the info hopefully I can get my USB data cable to work this time.
I downloaded webjal and the patch from your site, do I still need to install
the USB drivers for the cable? Or does the Webjal install include this?

I installed Webjal then I installed the patch from the site, i plug the
cable into the phone and then the usb end into my computer. XP detects a USB
device then it gives me a message saying the USB device is malfunctioning or
not recognized and that's as far as I get.

Use a serial cable. The USB one's are pretty much junk.

I have a serial cable from my old p280 and webjal sees the phone and
communicates and it looks to successfully download a ringtone to it, but
when i check my ringtones the ringtone doesnt appear, what am I doing wrong?
Also I get an error with idenupdate when i try to update firmware saying
something about it not being able to identify my phone. HELP!!!

P.S Packet services seem to be working ok with the serial cable.
