I'm a long time user of Nextel and think it's time to upgrade my
beat up i1000 phone.  However, everywhere I turn, I'm being offered a
new plan to get a new phone.  Can anyone steer me in the right
direction to purchase just a phone, without a plan at a reasonable
price?  The i95CL and i730 are my favs.

Thanks in advance,
gregor

I have been thinking of upgrading my phone also. I have a I90c but I
have trouble sometimes reading the display at night.

So if I go to Staples or a Nextel store I can just sign up for 1 year
service. I like the plan I have and would like to keep it.

Cool. Just one other question. From what I understand is that the new
SIM cards are different how do I move all my phone number's and

any nextel retail store should be able to print you out your phone book or
they can trasfer the phone book to the new phone (if there programs are
working correctly onthe trasfer) if not they can print you out your phone
#'s and you can always reprogram them in

get yourself a copy of RSS or Companion Pro. You should be able to save your
phone book to the harddrive and restore it without any problems.

you have a grandfather caulse on your contract you can update a phone with
out changing plans you just extend your contract one or two years  so you
don't have to change plans

the good thing if you phone is in a usable condtion nextel will buy your old
phones back  granted you may only get $5 to $20  but still it's better than
nothing
there buy back is so they can recertify phones to swap out phones that have
quit working

I would honestly go to a nextel retail store in your area and talk to them
in person
