unfortunaltely that's not the full version of depot. all it will allo
is carrier and text branding. it does allow for other minimal editin

Hmm unless they changed the files from the nextel4free site...I
downloaded one of the RSS carrier files and unlocked my i95 and
i88...tried to do my i730 but wasn't supported in that version...haven't
looked again to do it.  But image changes what do you mean?  As far as
uploading different startup images? you can do that with any jal program
just rename the file 1st pic ="carrier_img.gif" and 2nd pic
="text_img.gif"  (according to howardforums haven't tried it, as I don't
have the originals to replace it back later.)

Hmm unless they changed the files from the nextel4free site...I
downloaded one of the RSS carrier files (version 01.15.04 but all it
does is read the unlock code and you use another program called
unlockit17b can't recall where I got it, to decrypt the unlock codes)
and unlocked my i95 and i88...tried to do my i730 but wasn't supported
in that version...haven't looked again to do it.  But image changes what

01.15.04 reads the CP and the user report file is recorded for unlocki
to read the subsidy code yes, you are correct, i think that he'
looking for a full version to manually change the subsidy with just on
click. here's the deal with depot or lab. Superagent is the lowes
(available to NRS) carrier comes next (not available to NRS but t
level 1 prog) depot (hard to get full version of, is wrapped wit
armadillo and requires a HASP key or emulator to crack it) LAB is th
grail of RSS and only a few handful have it (also wrapped with dillo)
can modify any part of CP. depot or lab can be used to unlock just b
changing the subsidy part under user ergs/general/subsidy: there'
really nothing to it. in one version of depot floating around you ca
edit the startup images (i know you can with myJal etc, but most didn'
know you can do it with RSS). palettes are easily changed and edite
with depot or lab which is how inversion pallette's are done by hype
as well as others on hofo

no, it's not the full version. i already checked it out and it has
limited capabilities. The key is not needed for this version to work,
however, a key could unlock the rest of the features or it may just be
a cracked version of carrier like others have been. the whole deal on
hofo was the problem of radio tuning and cell tuning that could be done
with depot or lab that could royally screw up everyone. one small
adjustment could cause a tower to lose channels, causing lag times like
verizon!! that'd be just peachy. the only real need for depot was for
unlocking and conveinence of carrier, text and power up branding. with
programs from Nexvision like the falcon patcher all can be done now
except unlocking!

OK I just installed the RSS Carrier (1.16.02) and plugged in the i730.
Its unlocked so that was a nice start...but when I went under codeplug /
User Ergonomics / Interleave..I found it showing

Circuit data channel interleave set at 3:1 (half rate only)*
Factory circuit data channel interleave 3:1 (half rate only)*
Voice handover restriction Static#
Data handover restriction Static#
New 6:1 interconnect setting Off%
Interconnect voice channel interleave 3:1 (half rate only)*

*options available are 3:1 half rate only, 6:1 full rate only, 3:1 half
rate preferred, 6:1 full rate preferred

#options available are static, dynamic

%options available are off, on

Now I thought the main catch of having the i730 was the 6:1 codecs...why
would it be not enabled defaultly?  What benefit would I find (or down
fall) by changing these?

:-) rss carrier and unlockit17b program.  Use rss and save phone info as
"User report" then open unlockit and drop the file over it...it shows
your subsidy code for that phone.

The early release i730's did not have the 6:1 CODEC. The handsets comin
out now have the 6:1 CODEC. To get your 3:1 730 enabled it will have t
go back to Nextel for a upgrade. Not all the markets have enabled 6:
interconnect due to some technical difficulties. This is also th
reason some people post that there battery life is not as listed. Th
specs for the battery life was based on the 6:1 CODE

Mine has it, just not enabled and I can do it here at home...but just
wondering if there would be anything I should expect to see/notice from
doing such.  ie. if its not enabled here yet (on the towers) would I see
a performance decrease?  or would it just fall back to the 3:1 until the
towers have 6:1

AMBE- advanced mulitband excitation. This is a new vocoder(voice coder
from Motorola. This vocoder will maintain high voice quality at a lowe
data rate, while doubling the capacity of interconnect calls. On
timeslot per frame with AMBE+2 vs two timeslots per frame with VSELP.

The new falcon phones produced in 2004 will have both the VSELP an
the AMBE+2 vocoder to support split 3:1 and legacy interconnect.

No, your phone will not work with split 3:1. Why are you so concerne
with this? This affects the carrier not the customer. You will se
slighty more battery life, but thats it. BTW, I know what I am talkin

So I am still wondering where your information has come from about the
i730's prior to 2004 do NOT have the new 6:1 when 1) the codeplug says
"new 6:1 interconnect setting" and 2) Nextel is stating the i730's (all
of them) have the same capabilities of 6:1 once the systems are all in
place and do not need to be 'upgraded' as you state, that it will just
take place, by an OTA update to the phones, telling them to enable it.

Not that I doubt you cuz we ALL know Nextel's CSR's usually are
clueless, but would like to read it myself from a trustworthy/reliable
source.

Why do you want your timer's reset for? The only reason for resetting
timers is to pass off a old phone as new, or to defraud nextel into
giving you a new phone.

You don't need the key? or is it still protected by the 'dillo? FYI, I
