Apparently you can't. You have to download whatever crap they want you to
have. You have a choice of the butterfly or the dog.

You can if you use a program such as MyJal. That's what I did and I now
have a picture of my son as my wallpaper.

Humm, I started with a JPEG but I believe I converted it to a gif at
some point. I think only gifs can be uploaded by MyJal, but I don't have
the program handy to check at the moment.

You have to have the data cable, then you download the software from nextel.
Once you have it all installed you just follow the instructions and download
any image you want.  I have a picture of my dog as my wallpaper.

It's not difficult.  The data cable is going to run you some money.  Check
ebay for the best prices.

Good luck.

And what is the software you download from Nextel?  I haven't seen a
program on their website that is described as doing this.

What is the name of the software?

What is the part number for the data cable?

Specifics, please.

Data Cable - $10 - $20 on EBay....I use a USB cable that also charges the
phone, but some people swear by the Serial Cable....I like USB & have had no
problems.

Then you need a program called "MyJAL" you get it from
http://members.cox.net/myteam
They just upgraded it so you will have to pay $5 for a lifetime key.

To re-size and convert a .jpg to a 130 X130 pixel .gif, you need to get a
program called "irfanview" I believe you can get it at www.download.com

any ?'s post 'em up here.....

have been able to do this in the past successfully!!).  I am able t
add my pic (in the proper size and .gif) to myJal, it goes through th
process of downloading the image to my phone and I get the message tha
it has been successfully downloaded, but when I go to find it on th
phone, it is not there.  I have pleanty of memory too!

Can any one help me?
