Ok so I thought it would be cool to order a phone on the internet from
Nextel .coms web site
I used to have a i85s and like it alot, so i got the i58sr with is similar
but newer
after 5 days and 3 credit checking calls I finally got the phone!
I was so happy!
So I call the 800 number to activate it.
BAD NEWS
For some reason my phone has a 517 area code.
area 517 is for Lansing, mi about 100 miles from my are code 586
They told me there is no way to get a 586 area code number.
They said all the numbers were taken!
I could not believe that crap.
They told me they would call me in 5-7 days "If a number in or near 586
comes available"
I said ok, whatever.
But that's stupid!
I Called my local Nextel dealer, he said he activated 3 new phones with 586
numbers today!!
So I called back the Nextel 800 number and said if you cant give me a 586
then I would rather go to the sprint store and send this thing back.
The rep said "I don't care what you do sir, I don't have any 586 numbers"
O GOD!!!
let me talk to some one else
after a minute I get
?gracias por llamar el nextel c?mo puedo le ayudo?

ENGLISH PLEASE!! I said

so I talked to the nice lady and she calmed me down and apologized and said
that she's very sorry about everthing..
what ever screw you
If I don't get a call back by tomorrow I am going to send the phone back and
get a sprint phone.

what did you do with your old phone number?  Why didn't you just
transfer your old number to your new phone?

Would your local dealer be able to get the right area code for you?
I don't understand why you didn't just get the new phone from your
local rep instead of going to Nextels website?

Why don't you take it to the Nextel dealer, and get THEM to
handle it. You should have bought it from there anyway...

I certainly don't think you will have less frustration if you get a phone
from "shint"
