If I read it right I think you can in the group call this way, we use it in
our Nextel we got 6 user's we all got the same fleet number so we all can
talk to whole fleet. now if I need to keep it within 3 user's I program the
sub fleet number to just those three phone and just those three got there
own channel. but we try not to use group call feature to much because it can
get little expensive at time. my explanation might be wrong in term wise but
I hope I got the idea right

I don't know if the packets are multicast over the back haul or not.
