I have been given a Nokia 6230 is a replacement for my Nokia 6310.
I have a car kit for the 6310, but it doesn't fit the new 6230.
Is there an adaptor available that I can use with the 6230 so it works with
the current handsfree car kit?
I've asked Nokia and all they recommend is that I buy and install a brand
new car kit.
Thanks in advance
Peter
Hi,
You will need a new car kit (unless ya current one is a bluetooth
kit).
The hard wired kit the 6310 uses, has a cradle that comes with the
kit, that suits the 6310. (CARK-91 iirc)
The kit for the 6230 doesnt come with a cradle. You buy the
appropriate cradle to suit the phone, as an extra. Also, you will need
to buy the 'coupler' if you want to use an external aerial with the
6230.
And incase you are wondering, I had a 6310i with car kit (from when I
had a 6110 and 7210), and have now a 6230, and had to change car kits.
Now, after all that, if you think ya next phone will also have blue
tooth, you may fingd it more econom ical to but the blue tooth kit...

NOT "strictly" true.
Have a look at www.mobilefun.co.uk and then for Car kits/hands free.
They actually sell an adaptor, to convert the 6310 cradle to that which will
accept the 6230/6230i.
About 35£ - 50£
