Normal Nokia Phone Needed that connects via iRDA or USB

I found out the Nokia 6010 will not connect to the PC.  Some cables
with "modifications" claim to fix this.  I do not know if they will
work.

What phone might be recommended to replace this one.  I will keep the
6010, but wanted a second one to program and download stuff to.  Thanks.

I presume the cable you are talking about is this one:

The modifications are pretty straightforward - the clip that holds the cable
into the phone has to be removed as Nokia didn't leave room for it in the
6010/3595.  You will, however need a strong rubber band to hold the cable in
place minus the clip!
