Gmail uses Port 995 rather than the standard Port 110, that would be the
first thing I would be checking.

I have succesfully used these settings with Nokia 6630 and N70:
User name: my.address@gmail.com
password: Gmail password
Access point: internet (this depends on your cellular service provider,
please you use access point that supports Internet access.)
Incoming server: pop.gmail.com
Outgoing server: (My cellular service provider's SMTP server, also
smtp.gmail.com works.)
Mailbox type: POP3
Encryption: Enabled (ports 993/995)
APOP authentication: Not used
If you have problems receiving messages:
- check that POP3 access is enabled in your account settings in
www.gmail.com
- check your encryption settings, Gmail doesn't accept POP3 without
encryption.
If you have problems sending messages:
- check that you have set correct SMTP settings, either the server supported
by your cellular service provider or smtp.gmail.com with encryption.
