When I connect my 6230i with a data cable it always ask if I want to
use it in "USB disk mode" (or something). I never do that. Is there a
way to tell the phone not to ask for that each time it's connected?

No. You'll have to press the right soft key each time.

The disk storage mode can be useful if you just want to transfer files
to/from the MMC. Much faster than PC Suite.
