G'day folks,
I'm going to recode a heap of my MP3s to a lower bitrate and store them on
my phone for music while I'm out - and I want to know what size cards people
are using in their 6230. I would like to fit the biggest one that the phone
can use.
I think Nokia website says that the 6230 can only take up to a 512MB card,
but I'm sure someone on here has posted that they're using a 1GB card in
theirs.
What's the biggest card that people have successfully used in their 6230 and
what is your firmware version?
( *#0000# tells you your version)
I'm suspicious that firmware version might have a bit to do with the max
size card the phone can read, anybody know more details on this? My 6230
currently has version 5.50
cheers, Craig.

My phone is actually a 6230i, acquired fairly recently running v3.70.
I put a 4GB card in and it works fine. I had read that bigger cards
needed to be formatted on the PC but mine was fine straight out of the
box into the phone.

I have a 1GB card in my 6230 with 5.40 firmware. I don't know for a fact,
but I think it should work with a 2GB card, too.

My guess is Nokia 'recommend' their phones will not work with higher
capacity MMC cards because they don't sell them.

Thanks for your replies,
I'll get around to chasing up a 2GB or so card and see how it goes.
