Finally it's possible to upgrade the firmware of your Nokia-GSM yourself!
Following phones are supported:

N70, N72, 6131, 6630, 6680, 6681, 6682

On the following link, you can download the program:

http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,1522,,00.html?orig=/softwareupdate

The software is in English, but later this year other versions will be
available.

It's not possible, to change i.e. Vodafone-software to Nokia generic
software!

The language-packs will be unchanged!

Maybe they should have it written into the programme to stop PC-Suite
when it starts, surely that wouldn't be too hard to do.

Cheers for the quick answer.

Last question, I promise

Will it remove all Branding from the phone?

Thanks

Mikey

It changed the i-mode brand (KPN mobiel). I had a nokia 6680 with i-mode.
After upgrading the firmware the KPN settings and i-mode settings were
replaced by generic nokia settings

I hope to find the firmware for my 6230i some day... version 3.40 is
almost ok but a new version is always better :)

It ought to be better, but it isn't always.  New releases apply some
fixes but introduce new bugs, which is why there are always new
releases.

If you've found a stable version stick with it.

ok but... I have some problems in the email section (messages->email),
the application often says that there isn't enough space for emails
(only text emails, 10 kb max)
