But you had so clear advice from the program to backup your data first!

Sorry, got the impression that you had not done backup at all.
Anyway, I've been able to restore (most) data from a backup of another phone
model. If you did not succeed restoring anything from the N70 backup, sounds
like you do not have anything. What does your phone restore view show? For
me it automatically selects from the list the last backup data of the
connected device but it allows me to select another file too. I hope you
find something that originates from your N70 backup attempt.

You cannot restore to a 7610 (mentioned in one of your further posts).
Nokia's suite does not allow to backup/restore to different phone models.

You mention that you backed up your N70, and presuming there were no errors,
you will be able to restore to any other N70 in the future.

You forgot "unless otherwise proven"?

Honestly this may not work between all models but on my Nokia PC Suite if I
have a backup from phone A and select phone B from PC Suite backup/restore,
I get a window saying:
"Select backup file to be restored. The content backed up from the phones
listed below can be restored to the connected phone."
And I have window showing backup from several different Nokia phone models,
including S40 and S60 ones. I can then select if I want to restore contacts
calendar etc. and/or images, videos etc.

OK, I don't have 7610, could be that this specific phone is not supported
but that would be really odd (since I have another phone with the same S60
version as in 7610).

When i replaced my Nokia 7610 with my 6680, this was the first thing I
tried. But it came up with the error 'phone model incorrect from original
backup' or something along those lines.
