How do I install untrusted SSL certificate on N73? I download a .CER
file and put it in the Document directory of the phone. Then using file
manager, I open this .CER file, but instead of installing the untrusted
certificate, the Notes Application (Menu->Office->Notes) opens the
.CER.

I also tried to install this .CER file directly from web brower, but
also instead of installing the certificate, the browser opens it as a
text file...

Does anyone have a solution?

Thanks for helping!

Surely this would come under Settings> Security Settings> Certificate
Management?

There is no option to add a new certificate under "Certificate
Management"

ALL

There is no way I have found to transfere the certificate to the phone
to allow it to be installed via bluetooth or IR  or memory card. If
people have done this and it's worked they are lucky they do not have a
self cert from a sbs server or thankfull that there IT dept know what
they are doing!.

The only way this can be done is through the internet ( which is the
way that nokia actually say o do this, although not that clearly). I
have read loads of posts of this that complicate this, but basicly you
need to down load the cert from a server that says its a root CA
certificate.  i.e. with the Mime type set up correctly on the SBS 2003
server, it has to be a download as you would for any other file.

Hope this helps, This how 'I' istalled by SBS mail certificate to get
Mail for exchange(1.6.1) to work on my Nokia N73.

1) On your mail server ensure that the mime type .der is set up  for
-application/x-x509-ca-cert, if you add this mime type ensure that the
web site is stopped and restarted in order for the changes to come in
to effect.
You can set set the Mime for the entire IIS server by clicking manage
on My computer on the server, find IIS in advance, select your sever
and properties, and add the mime types( i think its on the HTTP tab).
As I said make sure your stop and restart the websites.

2) On a PC outside the Lan connect to exchange through the internet,
this is important so that the cert name passes through your ISA server
liteners, these may change the server details in the cert. Install the
certifiacte in the Root CA store on the PC

3) Export the cerificate from the PC in der fromat, from the tools tab
in IE, internet options, content, certificates, Trusted root
certificates authorities, find your mail cert and export this in der
format (you should now have 'yourcert.cer' saved)

4)Rename 'yourcert.cer' to 'yourcert.der' (.cer files are blocked by
Outlook Web Access in step 5, this is why we going to use .der and set
up the mime type for der)

5) Send yourself a email Outlook Web Access and attached the .der
file.

6)On the handset navigate to the OWA page above in step 4, login, find
the email (this may be slow, make sure you pick the correct frame, when
propted). Open the email and select the der file.

7) Cert should install, select that you trust this cert for internet.

8) Restart Phone

9) PRAY, worked for me, hope it works for you.

Best of luck

Dirk
