My Nokia 6310i has some problems with Bluetooth, i use it with ASUS
WL-BTD202 USB Bluetooth Adapter and all of drivers and pairing settings
are made OK.

I use Win XP SP2. After i connected successfully to "Voice Gateway -
headset", randomly it disconnects from my adapter.

Also i sometimes had distortion noise when listening sounds from 6310i.

Does anyone know?

Thanks.

Check your firmware version, if it's less than 5.xxx as mine is, then you'll
probably have loads of problems. *#0000# for the interesting details.

As another poster has pointed out, earlier firmware versions had major
BlueTooth problems.  The latest (and final) firmware version for the 6310i
is v7.00.  I'd highly recommend you get it upgraded to that.

As the other posters noted, if you have an early firmware version this
may be the cause.  Note that we developed a tool to enable a
compatibility mode in the XP SP2 Bluetooth stack, which works around
some of these 6310i disconnect issues.  I can't say at all if it would
resolve your particular problem, and it isn't supported by all drivers,
but it might be worth a try.

Nope.  Some newer handsets can be upgraded using the Nokia Update Service,
but the 6310i is not (nor ever will be) supported for that service.  You'll
need to find someone with the right equipment (UFS or similar) or pay to
have it done.  If you have a local Nokia Service Centre, they will be able
to flash it, but will in all probability be more expensive than and
independent.

The 6310i is a pretty stable handset.  If you're getting screen distortions
I would suspect that there is more wrong with it than just old firmware.

I don't say "handset", i indicate "headset" function, which is
connected via "voice gateway" service through PC's USB Bluetooth Dongle
adapter.

As i understand, Nokia Service Centres does flashing for 6310i. PcSuite
or other applications cannot do it.

Right?

Yes, I was using the term "handset" is used to indicate your mobile or
cellular phone.

They will, but it will be chargable as an out of warranty repair.
