I have the above phone that I used with Cingular since I no longer am a
Cingular customer I have deleted all my contacts.  However, there is one
number which is my phone number that I can't delete it was put in by
Cingular.
I want to donate this phone but I need to get that number out because I
ported my number to my new carrier.  Can this be done? Thanks.

Are you sure it's in the phone and not in the SIM-card?
Most phone carriers supply own help-center numbers on their SIM-cards, so by
switching to another SIM-card the number will be gone.

Never heard about an option to have a "fixed phone book entry on the phone".
Branded phones may support odd stuff.

Are you sure it is not a contact on your SIM card? Did you use the menu
option to delete all entries both from the phone and the SIM? The SIM card
also has an entry for "own numbers" that many phones cannot edit. But since
this is on the SIM card, it should not be an issue. I assume you are not
going to donate the SIM card.

Thanks for the replies.  I did use the menu to delete all numbers from
the SIM card and the phone, but as you said I probably can't delete that
"own number" from the card so I will remove the card.  Thanks again.
