hi all,

due to a change in jobs I'm about to lose my current phone and car (with
built in satnav) so, I'm going to need a new phone and a sat nav unit.

I have thought about waiting for the N95 but I think the costs are going
to be extreme (sim-free I'm suspecting £700+)

so, second option is an N80 and satnav software/GPS kit. Ok so it
doesn't have built in GPS but as I'll only be using it in the car, I
don't think it really matters.

I can only see one problem...if I get a bluetooth GPS receiver then if
someone rings me in the car I wont be able to answer because I wont be
able to switch over to a headset...this might be an issue.

has anyone got one of these and can give an opinion?

many thanks

The phone ringing isn't a problem.  I've got tomTom on my N73 and the
girlfriend has it on her N80.  Phone rings and tomtom runs in the
background!

Obviously John Cleese stops giving u directions but u can have the screen
running showing the map while ur talking!  It works VERY well.  VERY quick
and it recalculates within seconds if u take a wrong turn.  All in all very
impressed!  I went for the Nokia GPS because it uses the same charger as the
N73...bonus!

I don't know, I'm just very dissapointed with N80. Slow software (or
hardware), just had a 3rd upgrade from Nokia service center, because after a
month or so of using it, it took like 10 seconds for it to send an SMS,
another month and it would take like 20. I'll see if this problem was fixed.
Also, I type pretty fast, it was perfect on my old 7650, but this one will
often stall, just delay my typing, I don't know what on earth it's doing
that it can't show the letters I type in real time. I'm thinking on
returning it to Nokia and ordering a N95 (I would pay the difference) but I
don't know if it can be done. I payed way to much for this cell for it to be
slower than old 7650.
