network would need to support it, which Orange don't seem to, as they
don't know what it is...

Its like a Yahoo/MSN messenger status system, where you change your
presence then everyone can see what you are doing before calling so
people will know if you are in a meeting or something else, as far as i
know none of the UK networks support it.

Maybe it will be supported in future, spose its the same thing to say
why have quad band phones when the UK uses only 2 bands.

Not really similiar, it's to entice folk who roam abroad! Also, they can
produce the one phone to be used all over the world, therefore cheaper in
total.
