If I was to use my current (?2G) T-Mobile sim in an unlocked 7600 would I be
able to use 3G services? (?once T-mobile 3G goes live?)

I don't make enough calls to justify 3's PAYG tariff. It would be a bargain
without the 30 day lifespan!

yes...the phone supports 3g so it will work, worse case it needs a phone
reset/software flash...should only set you back ?10-15

But will T Mobile support 3g on their 2g Sims??
I wouldn't have thought it likely

Yes at the moment your T-Mobile 2G sim in a 3G phone will enable you to use
the T-Mobile 3G service. T-Mobile went live in Feburary and as yet have not
restricted their 3G service. Whenever or not this will change in future, who
knows!!

How do you access the T-Mobile 3G service using a 2G SIM?

Gareth.

Your T-Mobile 2G sim will currently work in any 3G phone.......so you just
need a 3G phone. However, their are lfew advantages in doing so.

Virgin already do (voice only of course), so I see no reason why
T-Mobile wouldn't. AFAIK the only network not allowing 3G access at
the moment for existing 2G subscribers is Orange. (Tested with Virgin,
Orange, O2, Vodafone SIMs in an unlocked Motorola).

Try http://unlock.nokiafree.org/ - it works fine and supports a lot of
networks and Nokia models
