Find a freeware program called Express ClickYes. Some "security
improvement" made to Outlook a couple years ago causes the problem you
see, and this program allows you to get around it.

Try pressing Ctrl Alt and Delete buttons on your keyboard to bring up the
windows task manager. Then select the Processess tab. Then search the list
for OUTLOOK.EXE if it is there select END PROCESS. Then try psynching.

Thanks for the suggestions... tried & failed.
I finally went for a full reinstall (XP + Office + Nokia) and much to
my amazement it IS working !!!
I tend to keep a pretty standard copy of XP around for all my Outlook
usage so it was "resonably" painfull...
