Not sure exactly, but these are likely to be part of the CNT (content)
package that is put on the phone during manufacture and may have
operator customisations included. There are also a slew of files that
have things like wake up graphics and wallpaper, when you use the Nokia
Phoenix software to flash the phone it automatically selects all this
stuff by reading the product code and making all the customisations
settings.

It is possible to remove this using a third party flashing solution like
Twister or similar, I have Twister myself. I don't think you'll find any
free tools to do it for a 6230 though.

If interested, please respond to my Reply-To: address and I'll have a
squint at the data package to see what I can do.

OK, I've not kept up with Logomanager and its associated programs.

I have a copy of Logomanager but haven't used it in a while.

this is what i used on my 6230 when i bought it on orange payg last
November as i use it on o2. With mobimb you can just change the
startup/shutdown screens to what you want. great program.

Close but no cigar ;-)  They're held in the PPM which will need replacing
with pack C.

Ah, thanks for that Richard, I didn't go and trawl through the files to
see what was where. Seems there are other ways of furgling with this
stuff anyway, I haven't been keeping up with LogoManager and its friends
for a fair while.

I assume there is an O-specific PPM that is tied in with the product
code on the phone.

Looking at the phone through PC Suite's Phone Browser I have 2 files
named OrangeUK6230Startup.gif and OrangeUK6230Shutdown.gif in the
'Hidden Folder' that hangs off 'Phone Memory (C)'.

Might the OP get away with deleting his T-Mobile equivalents of these
files?  I guess the handset's power-on/off instructions will still
include the need to display them, so just deleting the images may
cause a problem?

Yup, as with many Nokias Orange have their own PPM (Pack O as you said).
Mangled handsets have always annoyed me going back to the days of the 6150
(fantastic phone, but the first thing I did was get rid of the Orange
customisation).
