Question:  I need to swap phones with my wife.  If I take the 2 phones to a
Sprint store can they switch the numbers and is there a charge?  Thanks.

Actually it can be done by customer service if you have an expired phone
on your account.  The problem is that you need a serial number as a
"place holder" in the middle:
--1st phone is switched to "place holder"
--1st phone is switched to 2nd number.
--2nd phone is switched to 1st number.

Most CS reps can do this, but the store could also do it.  The phone
call might save you a trip, however.

Hope this helps,

Will they get hit with 2 activation fees? Or a 2 year contract extension in
order to waive the fees. ?

Both phones are presently in service.

The last couple of times I've needed this, the rep was able to accomplish it
directly, with neither a third phone nor an overnight delay.  I do remember
that the first time I needed this, several years ago and perhaps on a
different wireless carrier, the rep had to suspend one or both accounts
overnight.  I then had to call back in the morning to complete the switch.

Thanks for the replys.  Since no one mentioned it I assume there is no charge
for this service.

I am not sure there is not a $72 charge for 2 activations. Could depend on
store.

Well I wouldn't be too happy about that.  I would expect a service as simple as
this to be complementry.

Group,  I took the 2 phones to a Sprint store today and they swaped the numbers
and there was no charge for those that are interested.
