Thanksgiving is not a Holiday : SprintPCS

In contrast to every other cellular carrier where major holidays count as
weekend minutes, with Sprint, every weekday is "Peak Minutes". Just dial *2 and
say "Holiday Minutes" to Claire, and she'll be happy to inform you that
Thanksgiving day is peak minutes.

You'll notice that every carrier uses the terms "Weekday" and "Weekend", not
peak and off-peak.  Where did you get the idea that Thanksgiving THURSDAY is
a weekend day?  If the plans still refered to off-peak minutes like they did
several years ago, then fine, holidays were considered off-peak.  Times and
plans have changed.  You've lost holiday minutes, but instead of paying $30
for 90 peak minutes, you get 300 weekday minutes.  It's more than a fair
trade.  And since you mentioned every other carrier, here's the list:

Verizon
Cingular
AT&T
T-Mobile
Nextel

How many of them have holiday minutes?

Tried that.  I hit 1 for english and then it asks for my pcs number...at
which time it tells me to dial the customer service number provided by
my carrier....Then Activation Failed.  Something seems amiss.  Hopefully I
can still make calls...lol  They could have just said that the monkeys have the day off.....

same thing happens to me regardless of wether i dial *2 or 611, i thought it
was something wrong wit my phone...

a couple times i did go through to cs directly and say they were closed due
to observance of the holiday and will re-open at 7 am tomorrow...glad to
know that it's not just me going nuts !!!

Yup, dslfoo assumes facts not in evidence, haven't seen any carrier
that differentiates for holidays.  He/she sure is a whiny li'l biatch,
isn't she?

It seems to be the only thing that amuses him on this newsgroup,
bitching about Sprint PCS.

Actually Verizon did, at least until very recently, call Thanksgiving
a holiday and it applies to night and weekend minutes.  Still, this is
not new news and is available in all the literature when you sign up
for service.

You have to ask Claire because there is no one there on the holidays to explain
to you why an error occured and you can't send your messages like you should
be able to.

So what? It's been that way, and it's clearly described in the
definition of what constitutes "night and weekend" minutes. If it
bothers you that much, perhaps you should switch carriers. To most of
the rest of us, it's just not that big a deal.

He is just trying to stir up trouble as usual.  This has been in the
literature this way for a long time and it is there to see when you
start service.
