Depends on the error message. An error 1012 usually means
you *have* to calls us. With newly activated Vision
phones, it usually means the Vision username either hasn't
setup yet, or that it errored out getting setup. We have
to fix that on our side.

I ended up finding a tech last night (after about 2 hours of holding) who
turned vision on for me - something to do with setup of IP, or something
like that.
