Dropping calls

Can anyone tell me what might be going on? In the past two to three weeks,
my phone will only keep a call going for less than a minute. Literally I
often have only 10 seconds before it hangs up. The signal is strong
according to the bars and the battery is fully charged. I don't know what
else it might be. Is the phone dying? I've treated it pretty good, only
dropped it a couple times and not at all recently so I don't think it's
physically damaged. It is an older phone-the Samsung Uproar (M100). I can't
even get through to Sprint customer service long enough to tell them what's
going on. I did send an email from their website about dropping calls, and
got a fairly generic response back that was no help at all. (I got rid of my
home phone, so unfortunately don't have a backup way to reach them, argh!)
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

Yes, first off, you need to get the phone tested at your local SPCS store.
Your phone could be crapping out.

Also, before you go, check out this site and compare the current firmware &
PRL versions loaded on your phone.
http://www.sprintpcsinfo.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=9 . If
your phone does pass the diagnostic tests, have SPCS load up the current
versions for your phone. Ask the local SPCS store tech about the problems
you are experiencing. Maybe a tower is being worked on ...

If you do need a new phone, and you've had the same phone number on the same
phone for 18 months, you can qualify for a rebate on the new phone. See
http://pcshandsetupgrade.sprint.com/ for more details.

Last, but not least, if you can get to a landline phone, you can call SPCS
CS at 888-211-4727.

Thanks. I have narrowed it down. It is definitely the phone. I remembered
that I had an even older phone lying around somewhere (a Samsung SCH 3500)
so I dug it out and went on the Sprint website and changed phones back to
that one. It works great. So knowing this, I went ahead and ordered a new
phone from the Sprint website. Sigh. Who knew a phone that cost several
hundred dollars would only last 2-3 years. Thanks for responding

It's called Engineering for Prosperity. Try watching the movie "Man in
the White Suit".

Hopefully you didnt lose your ability to get a mail in Rebate by not
currently having a phone in service for 18+ months on your account.
