I was wondering that in this day and age of technology, do the
screensavers that you can buy from various service providers... do they
really "save" your screen?  I remember in the old days when you could
get screen burn from some image or text being displayed on a moniter for
too long.

I am mainly refering to the "candy bar" style phones... not the flip
models where the screen turns off when you close the flip.  Has anyone
experienced screen burn on any newer model of phone in the last couple
of years?

LCDs don't exhibit the same "burn-in" that CRTs do.

Your screensavers's doing nothing more than providing (simple) entertainment.

...and running down your battery, of course.

In general, screensavers haven't served any purpose (other than
entertainment and support of utility companies), even on CRTs, for at
least the last decade.
