I am wondering if it is possible to download to a computer the pictures
and short movies that this phone is capable of capturing?

I'm assuming I need at least a cable, do I also need some sort of
software too?

With BitPm you can browse the 7400 under the Filesystem tab and save your
videos and pictures to your PC via right clicking. You will need a data
cable to do so, ebay is your friend for that.

Try either Susteen Datapilot w/ a cable cheaper to buy from J&R Audio
than Susteen or else where.

Other options are bitpim.org which has free software but you will need
a cable, I think the Datapilot option w/ the free bitpim is a good way
to go.
