For Samsung I500 PDA phone, how do i retrieve find out the user that sent me the text message?

Hi i have this weird problem with my i500 phone, when someone send me
a text, it'll be from unknown and callback # is unknown. i don't who
sent me the msg and i have no way of knowing who to reply to. what is
wrong with the phone? TIA

It is not the fault of the phone, but a bug in the Sprint Shortmail/SMS
gateway that was introduced when Sprint moved to real MO-SMS.
Sprint refuses to fix this bug.

You cannot find out the sender's id of a txtmsg that you receive.
Many complaints to Sprint have been ignored...
