Huge issue in Las Vegas right now.

- Calls to SPCS users are being routed to the wrong phones (other users).

- Checking voicemail from a SPCS phone will open up another user's voicemail
with full access.

- Calls from SPCS phones are being routed to the wrong numbers.

This is happening to hundreds of SPCS users in Las Vegas.  Multiple tickets
have been opened w/ SPCS, but their only "fix" is to reset the handset and
reprogram the phone.  This does not fix the issue.  Each week, more and more
users are being affected by this issue.

Is this happening anywhere else in the country?  Anyone know what's really
happening here?

Thx...

That sounds like a porting issue.  Did the affected customers port
their numbers from another carrier or change their Sprint phone number
at one point in time?  Also what phone are you using?

The majority of customers have been using SPCS for several years.  All
models of phones are affected.

Haven't heard anything about this on other forums.  Had a friend at
Sprint look it up and found nothing on it. *shrug*

Figures :)  One of my clients has over 150 SPCS users in the organization.
Most of them have endured this issue over the last few weeks.  I know there
are multiple trouble tickets open on this, unless SPCS just places them in
the circular bin....

I am in Las Vegas and have not been affected by this, nor have I heard
anyone say anything about it.

There have been past incidents regarding certain businesses dealing in
"the entertainment business"
that does most of its business at night. The phones would work fine
during the day, but
at 4 PM, like clockwork, those phone numbers would be routed to "well
connected" phone lines
instead.

The local phone company said that they couldn't find a problem with
their switches, yet
that was the only equipment between the caller and the intended
business.

So, since not everyone is suffering from these problems, perhaps a
similar
"administrative" problem is occuring.

I've never heard that one before.  What phone company polices these things?

In Vegas, none.  Sprint (formerly known as United Telephone) is the ILEC
in Las Vegas, and it's been known for a long time that there are
certain... "influences..." at work regarding the telecom infrastructure
there.

Note: Sprint IS the local landline phone company in Vegas. Vegas is the
largest city in which Sprint is an ILEC.
