Okay, maybe a couple....

My trusty Samsung 8500 is finally dying.....

I was in the Sprint store ready to pull the trigger on the 350, but
the store had no data cable, and I won't manually enter hundreds of
contacts.  Then I re-read the review on Amazon, and it seems as if
somebody was able to sync contacts from Outlook (which is what I want
to do).  It sounds from his review as if he did it over Bluetooth.
The Sprint salesman had no idea.  So my question(s):

--can you sync contacts from Outlook via Bluetooth, or do you need a
data cable?

--do you need software that doesn't come with the phone?

--and regarding bluetooth, my PC doesn't have bluetooth, but can I use
one of those USB/bluetooth adapters to connect to the PC?

--the alerts for messages only goes off once....is there some sort of
indicator, or do you have to open the phone to see if you have
messages (I did read the owner's manual, it says the phone will alert
you on the display, but it doesn't say if it's the outer display or
the inside display)

and finally...

--it seems as if the review on Amazon are very good, does anybody have
personal experience with this phone (there are only 5 there).  I live
in a marginal service area and need a phone with great reception.  Is
there a better choice.  I'm not concerned with camera, mp3, web
browsing, etc. etc., just a solid phone with excellent reception that
I can sync with Outlook

thanks for the help,
Paul

Thanks for the info.  I looked, and BITPIM does not support my phone.
Apparently the reviews on phonescoop say the vcard thing works with
the 350, but one at a time.   I'd like a solution (preferrably one
that comes with the phone, like a lot of others) that just does a sync
and you're done.  Then you don't have to remember which contacts have
changed since the last time you did the vcard transfer.

Anybody have any info, or any info on my other questions?  All help is
truly appreciated.

thanks,
Paul

looks like it is FutureDial that does limited support for the 350.
unfotunately it is a bit pricy and you have to buy the cable as well.
but still says only does contacts.

might check DATAPILOT as well, looks like has more support, but again COSTS.

might also ask LG about software, here is the data page from LG

Thanks for all you help.....a couple of avenues to explore.

Is there anybody out there actually owning one of these who's solved
the problem?  I'm finding it hard to believe that a new model cell
phone makes you send contacts one by one and has no sync
functionality.  This is becoming a dealbreaker, although your
suggestions below would cost some $$ but solve the problem.

take care,
Paul

believe its because of security and bluetooth.
someone close by can DISCOVER your phone and download your phone book.
and/or other items from your phone.

many stories on the internet located via google on security and bluetooth problems.
