Hey tell us more about the repeater.
Both my home and office are in fringe areas of coverage.
Some days my office let's me have Digital Roam, and sometimes I don't
even get that - analog roam and about 3 hours of standby time :(
I have checked out lots of repeaters, and tried to get in on the Sprint
labeled one but no dice (and no $500 to spend on it).

I found 4 bars in the half way up the top of my garage with my phone
(supposedly I only needed 2 bars) and mounted the reception antenna there.
I get 6 bars within 15-20 feet of the rebroadcast antenna through walls and
floors. Pretty simple to install. Make sure you pick the one that is
compatible with your service.
This is the cheapest you will find, I believe and it works as advertised.
Just be sure to mount the reception antenna vertically.

Is it portable? It appears to be, but dosent specifically say it is.
Logically it seems it would work for data also (stronger signal == more
reliable/faster data connection). Is this true?
TIA for any insight,

After years of good coverage with Sprint PCS, I hit a string of clients that
were in marginal Sprint PCS areas (in urban areas still) and Sprint PCS
doesn't fix it ... but Verizon [and mostly Cingular] cover these same areas
pretty well. I eventually switched ... for reasons beyond those over
coverage.
