Actually, there's an easier way. It's been a long-time topic
of discussion here that a lot of the reps simply don't know what to do
when you ask for a PRL update. Ideally, if you need one, the system
should recognize it when you dial *2 and it should happen right away.
If the system doesn't recognize it you can say "PRL update" when
prompted, but I and others have reported that the system seems to
think you're looking to upgrade your plan. Once you get to a phone
clerk they may say "it appears that you already have the latest PRL",
or that they don't know how, or worse, they say they'll flag it but
don't and you have to start all over. If you run into a snag, you can
ask for the "tech department" and they know what to do. Some people go
right there.

But I promised an easier way, and I've been using this
successfully for quite some time now: Just go into your account
online, then click the "Contact" link. Send an e-mail asking that your
phone(s) be "flagged for a PRL update" and within a few hours you'll
receive a reply telling you to go ahead and dial *2.

This works, and it may save you a handful of ibuprofen!
