Are you certain that the software is compatible with your model phone?
If so, did you install any necessary software on your phone?

Honu,
The software listed my phone by Make / Model; I set all the settings
correctly. I had a program called Wavetones Studio 4.7 that worked great
with my last phone. I subscribed about a year ago, but when I went to use it
the other day, I got a dialog box saying that it had expired, and that a new
version was available.
When I went to their site, it was no longer in service, so I bought Xingtone
5. Unfortunately, their customer support SUCKS ! ! !
Thanks for your help,
Mike

Typically, this error means that the actual file you are attempting to
download is not compatible with your phone.
I double checked the website for xingtone and yes your phone is
supposed to be supported based on the drop down list they provide.
You might want to take advantage of their email support, since you
said that you had no luck with their chat support. xingtone
themselves
are your only available source of help really to resolve this as it
is their software that they claim is compatible with your phone.
Myself, I would probably request a refund since it is not working, and
use one of the free ringtone makers available online. For example
'myxertones.com' allows you to upload the song, decide what portion of
the song you wish to use, and delivers it to your phone via sms link,
or you can directly download it via wap. this site is 100% compatible
with my m500 which was realeased by smasung, about the same time as
the 610, and i would think would work beautifully for you as well.
the same site also allows you to create wallpapers.
