I have a question I'd like to have some suggestions/ideas before I go to a store etc.
Unfortunately my brother passed away about ten days ago. He had Cingular service and very recently had obtained a RAZv3m phone.
Does anyone know if it is possible to reconfigure, such as a different card, the phone to use for my Sprint account?
Any advice is welcome.
Thanks,
Mike

No can do.
Sprint will only activate a phone that was originally sold as a "Sprint phone."
PS - PLEASE stop posting in HTML. Thanks!

Wouldn't matter anyhow. An unlocked Cingular phone can be used on any
GSM network that runs on compatible frequencies, but Sprint isn't GSM.

Nope, no way, nada...sorry. Cingular technology not compatible with Sprint
technology.

Sorry about your loss brother, Michael
Are you sure the phone is a V3m?
Perhaps it is a V3i or another type of Razr?
If it is a V3M, it _IS_ a CDMA version MotoRazr and it will work on
Sprint, but they may not activate it if it was a Verizon branded
phone.
A V3m would not have worked on Cingular as the other posters pointed
out, as they use a whole different GSM system, not CDMA.
At worst, you can sell it on eBay, where cellphones are a popular
item.

Change "may" to "will" and your statement is accurate.

Sorry man, it can't be done. I work for sprint, and I can tell ya, that the
ESN on the back of the phone underneath the battery won't appear in our
system.

And on top of that, as others have tried to point out, the GSM razr
will not function on a CDMA network which Sprint has.
