Changing Caller ID Name

I want to have the name that shows up on land line caller IDs changed.  Is
this possible?  My mom is using my cell phone and paying the bill and I
don't want my name showing up when she calls a land line.  Is this possible
for Sprint to do.  I sent an e mail to CS and of course they said no they
can't do it.  The only thing they can do is to turn caller ID off totally
which I don't want.  I don't even care if the last name is still there just
not my first name.  Thanks for any advise anyone can give me to get the name
changed.  I did a search for this on goggle here but I didn't find any
recent information.  TIA,

The only option (that I know of) is to use "Caller ID Spoofing."

(Google "caller id spoofing.")

Unfortunately, it's not a seamless process to use, and it'll
probably be more costly than just getting your mother her own
number.

Not only can they change the caller ID , they did it for me.  When I got a
phone for my daughter, my name originally came up because it was on my
shared minutes account.  I called them to change her phone to show her name
and it took about 5 minutes.

Call them, don't send an email.

I believe they (used to, at least) call it "Swapping Authorized User".
They did it for me, too, years ago.

We still call it that too. It's part of P2K, one of the business systems we
use. We say up to 72 hours just to save our butts in case we are wrong
though...

No.

But it's the account holder's name that comes up anyhow.

When I was with Sprint in Ohio, my wife's phone came up with my name.
Now out here, we use T-Mobile and the phones both come up with her
name, because it's her name on the bills.

It's all fun and games until someone starts a bonfire in the living room.

I have a 3-line account, billed to my business.  The Sprint rep was only too
happy to have each individual user's name appear, rather than the business
name.  It took only a few minutes.

I am sorry to hear that you had such an experience with eCare.  They
most certainly can change the caller ID for you.
The document that is used to instruct on how the process is done,
states it should be done by Technical Support, but after
doing it a time or two, it is not extremely difficult, although there
are many steps [15 in total if I remember right].
The fastest way to accomplish this would probably be to call in
directly, and when asked why you are calling, say "Technical Support"
or
"Wireless Web".  This will get you through to Technical Support who
are the most experienced with this sort of request.
